Science Forward. Regionally Rooted.
3DUB is an environmental services firm founded in the U.S. Virgin Islands — built around the scientific expertise, regional relationships, and field experience required for complex coastal and marine programs across the Caribbean.
Why We Exist
The waters around St. Croix, Puerto Rico, and the wider Caribbean basin are not an abstraction to us — they are home. Our founder was born and raised on St. Croix, with family roots in both the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico extending back through several generations. Our Division Lead shares those same island origins and long-standing connection to the region. That history informs how we read the region — and how we work in it.
Caribbean coastal systems are under increasing pressure from development, storm impacts, sediment disruption, watershed change, and long-term environmental stressors affecting reefs, fisheries, and nearshore habitats. These pressures do not operate independently — they interact across the full coastal system, from the reefs around Buck Island and the East End Marine Park to the watersheds feeding them from shore.
Reef health does not exist in isolation from what runs off the land, what settles in the sediment, what moves through the water column, or what becomes disturbed during coastal operations. Effective environmental work in the Caribbean requires following the whole system — from watershed to water column, from field observation to data-driven reporting.
3DUB was built on the understanding that environmental work in this region benefits from professionals who understand both the science and the place — the operational realities, regulatory environment, and ecological sensitivities shaping work across the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and the wider Caribbean basin.
We envision a Caribbean coast where environmental science, infrastructure resilience, and responsible stewardship operate as a unified framework, not competing priorities. Where coastal and marine ecosystems are supported through rigorous monitoring, habitat assessment, contaminant analysis, and environmental compliance grounded in the realities of this region.
3DUB is building the environmental science capability the Caribbean needs at the federal table — supporting environmental monitoring, habitat assessment, water quality programs, biological field operations, contaminant analysis, and coastal resilience initiatives across the Caribbean and CONUS coastal regions. We are in this for the long run. This place is not a market to us. It is home.
Where We're Going
Partnership Model
3DUB works with prime contractors, A-E firms, and federal agencies to deliver environmental science and compliance capabilities across Caribbean and CONUS coastal programs. Whether providing specialized subcontract support on civil works and coastal resilience projects or engaging directly with federal agency program offices, we bring technical credibility and field-ready expertise to each partnership.
Our team includes senior expertise in marine biology, protected species management, fisheries science, environmental chemistry, coastal systems analysis, and environmental data science — providing specialized technical depth across federal environmental program requirements.
